'''Non Player Characters''' (NPCs) are non-playable [[Animals|Super Animals]] that populate [[Super Animal World]], and serve to develop the lore and story behind [[Super Animal Royale]]. Some of these NPCs exist in game while others are characters that feature only in side content, such as [[Super Animal Royale Tonight]]. 

The characters that exist in game can be found by players, and talked to, or interacted with. Usually, these characters are linked to a [[Super Milestone]] that players can get upon completing a certain task for them. They are always found in the same location, and cannot be killed or harmed. Some NPCs that appear in game are unique, and serve a certain purpose, such as the [[Giant Eagle]], which transports players to the battlefield during the start of each match, and the [[Delivery Mole]], which delivers Mole Crates that contain high tier loot to the fighting Super Animals.

Super Animal Royale Tonight also includes a number of NPCs, such as the intrepid reporters, [[Non Player Character (NPC)#Joe Cluck|Joe Cluck]], [[Non Player Character (NPC)#Howl Michaels|Howl Michaels]], and [[Non Player Character (NPC)#Donk Patrick|Donk Patrick]]. These characters do not appear in game, and serve only to develop the lore and story of Super Animal World.

Non Player Characters that appear in game that players are able to interact with, serve some sort of purpose to the [[Mechanics]] of the game or provide unique cosmetic services to players such as [[Cackling Carl's Cart]].

===Cackling Carl===

A [[Animals#Hyena|Super Purple Hyena]] who is the owner and proprietor of the rotating [[Cackling Carl's Cart]]. Together with their [[Giant Emu]] Old Doug, they sell exclusive items to players using an in game currency called {{Currency|Carl's Coins|[[Carl's Coins]]}}. Players acquire Carl Coins by playing matches, surviving for as long as possible in games, and winning. Cackling Carl, and Old Doug are both members of the Super Animal Super Rebellion (SASR)  Cackling Carl is portrayed to have a very zany personality, with an extra bounce to their step. Cackling Carl's glass eye and outfit is not acquirable by the player at this time. Carl's Cart rotates every 2 days, and featured items rotates every 7 days. Cackling Carl makes their debut in [[Super Animal Royale Tonight]] in Season 2, Episode 1.

===Cheese Goudara (Prison Rat)===

A [[Animals#Rat|Super Rat]] imprisoned by [[Rebellion]] forces for crimes unknown at this time. Players are able to find this NPC located in the S.A.S.R.'s prison in the eastern side of [[Superite Mountain]]. The rat paces back and forth around their cell, exclaiming and insisting that they are "not a rat" to players. Players are not able to interact with this NPC like they can with [[#Dr._Jennifer_Dogna|Dr. Jennifer Dogna]], however they are able to kill the rat using any [[Guns]] or [[Throwables]] in the game (except for the {{Weapon|Banana}}.) When the [[Super Skunk Gas]] approaches, the rat suffocates from it, and does not survive. According to [[SART S02E05 One Dam Thing After Another|SART S02E05]], Goudara is revived by {{Animal|Beaver|Super Beavers}} if they are killed during the Animal Royales. This NPC is involved in a [[Super Milestones|Super Milestone]] for players to acquire an exclusive milestone item! The Prison rat also made their debut on [[Super Animal Royale Tonight]] Season 1, Episode 4, where they were killed by an unknown animal.

===Delivery Mole===

Delivery Moles are Super Moles that are tasked to appear twice per battle at random locations throughout the island during an [[Game Modes#Animal Royale|Animal Royale]] to deliver [[Delivery Mole|Mole Crates]] to the fighting animals. These mole crates contain high tier loot that are the only source of Legendary weapons during a Royale, and are the only source for weapons such as the {{Weapon|Minigun|rarity=Legendary}}. When the mole appears on the map, all players that are alive will receive a notification on their map to know where the mole has spawned. Once the mole has spawned, they will appear and seconds later, burrow underground for a few seconds then leave a mole crate behind for players to get. The outfit and hat worn by the moles is acquirable by players in the [[Super Animal Pass Season 4|season 4 animal pass]]. However, the Mole breed is not available for players in the [[Research Lab]] and thus players cannot play as a Super Mole.

Delivery Moles appear to be exempt from participating in the Royale, as they are employees of [[Super Animal World]]. They live in underground bunkers, where they have a complex society including schools, workplaces and homes, as shown in [[SART S02E06 A Mole Lotta Trouble]]. The work of the Delivery Moles involves filling the Mole Crates with loot, sending the crates through "QA", and finally delivering the crates by tossing them into the air during the Royale.

A [[Animals#Dog|Super Golden Lab]] researcher and scientist. Dr. Dogna researches, and creates new [[Breed]]s of Super Animals. Players can find Dr. Dogna in the [[Pre-game Lobby|pre-game lobby]], and interact with them for some interesting dialogue regarding The First Skullcat. Once the match begins, if players are able to find Dr. Dogna in their secret lab, they can speak to them to complete a story-related [[Super Milestones|Super Milestone]] and earn an {{Item|Outfit|item_name=Lab Coat}}. As the one of two NPC's you can talk to in game, Dr. Dogna cannot be killed by the player. When the [[Super Skunk Gas]] approaches, Dr. Dogna will pull out a gas mask to protect themselves from the gas. Players are not able to acquire Dr. Dogna's glasses or the gas mask that they wear right now. Dr. Dogna debuted in [[Super Animal Royale Tonight]] Season 2, Episode 1. {{Weapon|Dogna's Dart Gun}} and {{Weapon|Dogna's Dartfly Gun}} are attributed to Dr. Jennifer Dogna. Doctor Jennifer Dogna spends the entirety of matches in the Lab Lab.

They make their first appearance in [[SART S02E06 A Mole Lotta Trouble]], in which they are shown to operate their own Super Animal cloning laboratory for the Rebellion. Their help enables the Resistance to produce troops to fight the [[Super Animal World Corporation|Super Animal World forces]]. They can be seen occasionally peeking out from the Rebellion spawn hatch in [[S.A.W. vs Rebellion]]. Hidden somewhere in [[Super Saharaland]], the Skullcat lies awaiting for players to discover their tomb. The First Skullcat is one of two NPC characters in game players are able to interact with. Once players discover where the Skullcat lies buried, they will be rewarded with a [[Super Milestones|Super Milestone]] item upon talking to the skullcat. Like many other NPC characters, players are not able to acquire any of the cosmetics the First Skullcat wears.

Giant Eagles are responsible for transporting Super Animals from the [[Super Animal World#Welcome Center|Welcome Center]] to the battlefield! Jimmy Talon is a unique giant eagle who's sole purpose is to travel a set pattern across the entire island to let players drop off and begin the fighting! Jimmy Talon is also a member of S.A.W. Forces. In the [[S.A.W. vs Rebellion]] game mode, another giant eagle (???) is responsible for transporting the Rebellion team across the island for players to determine when to drop off. Jimmy Talon also makes their debut in [[Super Animal Royale Tonight]] Season 1, Episode 3, when [[#Donk_Patrick|Donk Patrick]], and [[#Howl_Michaels|Howl Michaels]] report from an aerial point of view.

A [[Animals#Deer|Super Moose]] who is the self-appointed governor of [[Super Animal World]]. Their motto is to "speak softly, and carry a big antler." Along with NPC [[#Quack_Shot|Quack Shot]], Governor Moosevelt appears in the [[Super Tutorial]] to give new super animals some helpful pointers. As of now, the Governor doesn't appear in game as an NPC you can interact with unless you have the Super Tutorial enabled, in which case they will pop up at the bottom of your screen to give you useful tips. They hope to receive your vote in exchange for all the useful information they provide to super animals. Their cosmetics are now obtainable in [[Super Animal Pass Season 3|Season 3 Pass]].

A [[Animals#Hawk|Super Kestrel]] who is a Super Bird of Prey that works for the Giant Eagle Airlines (GEA) company. Katie attends the gate at the home screen of the main menu, and is presumably responsible for organizing the flights for the super animals to go into the battlefield. Players aren't able to interact with Katie, as they just serve as a background animal in the main menu working behind the scenes. Katie was introduced in [[Version 0.96.1]] during the second and final phase of the [[Public Test Realm]]. The apparel items Katie wears are now obtainable from [[Super Animal Pass Season 5|Season 5 Pass]].

A [[Animals#Parrot|Super Blue and Yellow Macaw]] who is the owner and proprietor of the rotating [[S.A.W Shop]]. Players use {{Currency|S.A.W. Tickets|[[S.A.W. Tickets]]}} to purchase premium cosmetics/items. If the player does not have enough SAW Tickets, they must use real money to purchase them. Ticket prices vary based on where the player lives. Similarly to [[Cackling Carl's Cart]] rotating shop, Ms. MacAwesome's shop rotates every 2 days, and featured items rotate every 7 days. Like other NPCs in the game, players are not yet able to acquire any of the cosmetics Ms. MacAwesome wears. Ms. MacAwesome makes their debut in [[Super Animal Royale Tonight]] Season 2, Episode 1. During Season 2, Episode 7 of [[Super Animal Royale Tonight]] it is revealed that although Ms. MacAwesome has the ability almost speak full sentences, some of their words get cut off by various bird noises.

Quack Shot gives new super animals some helpful pointers regarding the use of weapons, some helpful tips for landing in a location, aiming and general survival advice to help players survive for as long as possible during a match with the [[Super Tutorial]] enabled. As of now, Quack Shot doesn't appear in game as an NPC you can interact with in [[Super Animal World]] unless you have the Super Tutorial enabled, in which they will pop up at the bottom of players screens periodically to give them useful tips. Like some other NPC's, players are not yet able to acquire any of the cosmetics worn by Quack Shot. Quack Shot also appears briefly in "[[SART S02E06 A Mole Lotta Trouble|A Mole Lotta Trouble]]" as part of a S.A.W. offensive against a Rebel hideout.

After several incidents where they cause trouble in mole society due to their size, they are locked up in a vault by [[ #Dr._Jennifer_Dogna|Dr. Jennifer Dogna]], where they become enraged. Later, a {{Animal|Lizard}} accidentally opens Twinkle's vault using Dr. Dogna's computer, allowing them to escape, and attack the [[Super Animal World Corporation|S.A.W. forces]] and [[Super Animal Super Resistance|S.A.S.R. fighters]].

CatFive first debuted in [[Super Animal Royale Tonight]] Season 1, Episode 6 as a cleaner dressed in a witch's costume giving out candy corn to the young super animals. CatFive briefly took over as a co-host with intrepid reporter, [[ #Joe_Cluck|Joe Cluck]], while [[#Donk_Patrick|Donk Patrick]], and [[#Howl_Michaels|Howl Michaels]] were away on vacation. CatFive generally shows a lack of concern, and even some disdain towards the other staff at the Super Animal Royale studios. CatFive does not appear in game as an NPC, and is strictly a Super Animal Royale Tonight character for the popular YouTube series. CatFive has been confirmed to be a "Chaotic Rebel" from the official Twitter page, and their Broom and Janitorial Uniform can be obtained from the [[Super Animal Pass Season 3|Season 3 Pass]].

Donk Patrick debuted in the very first SART episode, Season 1, Episode 1. Amongst all the other SART characters, Donk Patrick is the one with the most normal speaking voice with the occasional "hee haws" here and there. Donk is the main speaker of the commentator duo, and does most of the talking for the pair. Like most other other Super Animal Royale Tonight characters, Donk Patrick does not appear in game as an NPC, however, sometimes you will be able to find [[Pixile Studios|Developer Bob]] playing as Donk in game. Donk Patrick is one of the few super animals that have a star in the Walk of Stars walkway by the Shooting Gallery, and the Super Animal Royale Tonight studios buildings! Unfortunately for Donk, they also have the only star on the Walk of Stars that has been vandalized by Rebel forces.

They are portrayed as one of the main antagonists in the popular Youtube series, and are assumed to be responsible for capturing/imprisoning intrepid field reporter, [[ #Joe_Cluck|Joe Cluck]]. They are allied with the [[Super Animal Super Resistance|Super Animal Super Rebellion]] (SASR) and assumed to be a head commander in it. The Finch appears to be a high authority in the Rebellion, and has a very serious and intense personality often getting easily angered if Peep watches anything SAW related (SART Season 2, Episode 3). The Finch does not appear in game as an NPC, and is strictly a SART character. The gun belt and Rebel arm band The Finch wears is not yet available for players to acquire.

A [[Animals#Chicken|Super Chicken]] who is an intrepid field reporter for the ever popular [[Super Animal Royale Tonight]] Youtube series show. Joe Cluck debuted in the SART Season 1, Episode 5. Often portrayed as an easily frightened, and usually captured, and shot at by other super animals. While [[#Donk_Patrick|Donk Patrick]], and [[#Howl_Michaels|Howl Michaels]] went on vacation, Joe Cluck along with [[#CatFive|CatFive]], briefly hosted SART. Similarly to Howl's speaking voice, Joe usually does not talk at all, but rather gobbles, and shrieks. Joe Cluck is also the only SART character to appear as different breeds, probably due to them dying in certain episodes. These include; [[Animals#Chicken|Super Orange Chicken]], [[Animals#Chicken|Super Black Chicken]], and [[Animals#Chicken|Super Fried Chicken]]. Like most other Super Animal Royale Tonight characters, Joe Cluck does not appear in game as an NPC, however, sometimes you will be able to find one of the Pixile staff playing as Joe in game. Joe Cluck is one of the few super animals that have a star in the Walk of Stars walkway by the Shooting Gallery, and the Super Animal Royale Tonight studios buildings!

Peep's debut appearance was during [[ #Joe_Cluck|Joe Cluck]]'s imprisonment in [[Super Animal Royale Tonight]] Season 2, Episode 2. Peep is portrayed as a kind, and caring super animal, who comforts and gleefully sings along with Joe Cluck when they were imprisoned and held hostage by Rebel forces in SART Season 2, Episode 2. She's also easily amused as Peep can be seen grooving along to the [[S.A.W Shop]] ad in Super Animal Royale Tonight Season 2, Episode 3, and laughing at zany [[#Cackling_Carl|Cackling Carl]] in one of their ads. Peep and Joe Cluck have become fast friends, and it seems like Peep is helping Joe Cluck during their imprisonment by Rebel forces as much as they can. Peep does not appear as an NPC in game, and is strictly a character in Super Animal Royale Tonight.

Rabbita does not appear in game, and is only seen in [[Super Animal Royale Tonight]] or Super Fanart videos. A [[Animals#Dog|Super Husky]] genius inventor who resides in their workshop in [[Thomas's Tundra]]. Thomas does not appear in game, and is strictly a [[Super Animal Royale Tonight]] character. Thomas' first appearance was in Super Animal Royale Tonight Season 1, Episode 6, where they help [[#Donk_Patrick|Donk Patrick]], and [[#Howl_Michaels|Howl Michaels]] escape an ambush from Rebellion forces. Thomas's voice acting is nearly comprehensible. They're allied with the [[Super Animal World Corporation|S.A.W forces]], and they're also allegedly responsible for inventing most of the weaponry S.A.W forces use including weapons such as, the [[Thomas Gun]] and the [[Hunting Rifle]]. Like most other NPC characters, Thomas' outfit is exclusive to them, and the cosmetics worn by them are not yet acquirable for players. Thomas Sledison is also one of the few super animals to have a star on the Walk of Stars walkway near the Shooting Gallery, and Super Animal Royale Tonight studios buildings!

===Construction Beavers===

The Construction Beavers are {{Animal|Beaver}}s who are tasked with being the maintenance force of [[Super Animal World]]. As shown in [[SART S02E05 One Dam Thing After Another]], they clean up the island after an Animal Royale, and also get the island ready when an update is available. They work very hard to make sure everything is just right for players to enjoy after a new update launches. Once an update hits, servers go down for about half an hour so the beavers can complete their work, and let players resume playing the game once servers are operational again. 

The Construction Beavers are headquartered at the [[Beaver Construction HQ]]. 

Construction Beavers are usually exempt in participating in the Royales as they are employees of [[Super Animal World]]. However, their work is closely monitored, and if they do not meet targets, they will be put in the Royales to fight for their lives as punishment. If they fail to make it underground before the Royale begins, they are also put in the Royales, as happened to one unfortunate Beaver in SART S02E05. 

The outfits of the Construction Beavers are now available for players to obtain in {{Version|1.2}}.

He was created by one of the game developers, and was also named after the same person. [[Pixile Studios|Pixile Lyze]] now handles the Dukey Bear bot, and has implemented more fun features for players to enjoy in the official Discord server [https://discord.gg/animalroyale here]! Dukey Bear is one of the few super animals to have a star on the Walk of Stars walkway near the Shooting Gallery, and Super Animal Royale Tonight studios buildings!

A [[Animals#Sloth|Super Sloth]] mentioned often in the [[Super Animal World]]'s lore. They live in a shack in [[Pete's Swamp]], which is named after them, as well as showing up in the game credits, singing and playing "Pete's Song" on a guitar. Not much is known about this character. [[Pixile Studios|Developer Clogg]] is assumed to play as this character as their main super animal. Pete also appears very briefly in a SART episode when Donk Patrick, and Howl Michaels go on vacation, and pay a visit to Pete's Swamp. The sloth's name comes from a member of [[Pixile Studios]]. Pete is one of the few super animals to have a star on the Walk of Stars walkway near the Shooting Gallery, and the Super Animal Royale Tonight studios buildings! His outfit and the emote now available in [[Super Animal Pass Season 6]].

Formerly, Pete was part of a band called Pete and the Swampcats who played at the Crocodile Club in [[Pete's Swamp]], along with his bandmates Bone Jett on guitar, Geddy Lynx on bass and Teeth Moon on drums.<ref>{{Cite discord|Jake|https://discord.com/channels/413200888010637313/1006701452678418472/1076939886013202553|Bone Jett on guitar, Geddy Lynx on bass, Teeth Moon on drums!}}</ref>

A mysterious [[Animals#Raven|Super Raven]] which is some kind of deity to the Super Animals, and is the center of attention of an animal cult. A statue in [[Superite Mountain]] seemingly portraying Banan reveals that their appearance is of a {{Animal|Raven}}. In a mountain in the north-eastern corner of Super Animal World is the [[Banana Altar]], dedicated to Banan. Banan appears to have deity-like powers; when an offering of a {{Weapon|Banana}} is made at the Altar, the entire floor of the cave will be filled with bananas. Sometimes, a rare weather event, the [[Weather#Banan Rain|Banan Rain]], might even occur. A painting of Banan granting life to a Super Raven is permanently displayed in the [[Super Museum Of Modern Art]].

Out of world, the Banan character and animal cult was created through community humor. Raven, a community member, started praising {{Weapon|Banana}}s on the official Super Animal Royale Discord. At that time, the developers were looking into adding a cult of animals into the game. The Banan joke fitted what they had in mind, and thus the Banan character became canonical.
