The Hunting Rifle is a hard hitting break-action weapon with a very slow firing rate. Its bullets have a high velocity and remove all Armor.
Obtaining[ | ]
- Floor loot includes Hunting Rifle with two boxes of 5 Sniper Bullets each.
- Rebel Cache may contain Hunting Rifle.
Strategy[ | ]
Similarly to the Sniper, the Hunting Rifle can break even the strongest Armor in a single shot and deals massive damage to unarmored opponents.
Unlike manual-reload, if you auto-reload with the shoot button, there's a 0.15s delay after shooting, so manual-reload is suggested to experienced players.
Along with the Sniper, it is also the heaviest weapon, having the slowest movement speed of all the weapons, tied with the Big Clucking Gun.
Because it only has a single shot before needing to reload, you might only get one chance to hit an enemy, if you hit the mark you can break the armor immediately.
Using throwables like the Grenade can help to force an opponent to abandon cover, making them easier targets. Following up after one shot with faster weapons.
Similarly to the sniper rifle, by pressing the crouch button, player's field of vision will increases by a 10% zoom out. This can be used to find enemies who may be out of sight or used to hit more centered, precise shots at longer ranges.
Damage based on distance[ | ]
Damage output depends on the distance traveled by a bullet before it hits the target.
A bullet fired from the Hunting Rifle can travel up to 120 / 120 / 120 SAU, or 960px / 960px / 960px.

Trivia[ | ]
- The weapon was created by Thomas Sledison.[1]
- The closest real world weapon to the Hunting Rifle is likely the Stevens 301 Turkey Single Action Rifle.
Patch History[ | ]
- Bullet range is extended to from 120 / 120 / 120 SAU to 132 / 132 / 132 SAU while sneaking (camera zoomed out).
- Weapon recoil is non-random for the first few shots in a spray, but then becomes random after that. Automatic weapons such as the SMG or AK have 8 shots as non-random, but others like the Magnum or Deagle have 2. The Sniper goes random after its first shot, similar to its current version.
- Creep zoom added to Sniper Rifle and Hunting Rifle using creep key (default: Ctrl).
- Creep with the Hunting Rifle for a 10% zoom out.
- Hunting Rifle reload time lowered to from 0.8s to 0.7s.
- Hunting Rifle bullet speed increased for each rarity from common up to rare tier: 240/250/260 to 250/258/266.
- Hunting Rifle has been added to the game.
