Downed state refers to the state a Super Animal is in once they have reached 0 health, and is activated if there are teammates who can revive them (i.e. in Duos and Squads). When a player is in a downed state, their health bar changes to the "Downed Health Bar". This bar will always be red, and initially displays 100 Downed Health Points.

Their health will deplete until they are either dead (Downed Health Points = 0), or they are revived by a teammate.

The rate at which a Downed player's health decreases depends on the number of times a player has been revived.

The equation for this 'bleed out rate' is as follows: (((# of Revivals) * 2 )+ 2) / -1 = Bleed Out Rate.
Simply put, the Bleed out rate increases by -2 Health Points every time a player is revived.

Example:

  1. The first time a player enters the downed state: (( 0 Revivals * 2) + 2) / -1 = -2 Health Points Per Second
  2. The 2nd time a player enters the downed state: (( 1 Revivals * 2) + 2) / -1 = -4 Health Points Per Second
  3. The 3rd time a player enters the downed state: ((2 Revivals * 2) + 2) / -1 = -6 Health Points Per Second

In useable terms:

  1. The 1st time a player is downed, assuming no additional damage is dealt, this downed player has 50 seconds to be revived by a team mate.
  2. The 2nd time the same player is downed, assuming no additional damage is dealt, this downed player will have 25 seconds to be revived.
  3. The 3rd time the same player is downed, assuming no additional damage is dealt, this downed player will have 17 seconds to be revived.

Every time a player re-enters the downed state, they start with 100 Downed Health Points again (the red health bar).

To begin the process of reviving a nearby Super Animal in the downed state, you must use the "Use / Pick up" action, by default EPC PS4 SquarePS XboxOne XXbox/Switch Switch YJoy-Con. The process takes ? seconds to complete, and leaves both Super Animals vulnerable to enemies in the area.

Reviving pauses the bleed-out, however the revived Super Animal can still take damage from any other source, and notably from Super Skunk Gas. The process can be interrupted at any time, which will resume the bleed-out. After interruption the reviving will have to start from the beginning.

Upon being revived, the Super Animal will stand up with ? Health Points. It is recommended to heal them with Gun dart grey-resources.assets-5316 Dogna's Dart Gun or Dogna's Grey Dart Fly Dogna's Dartfly Gun if such weapon is carried by one of the allies, or found nearby.
