Barrels are placed across most map regions, and are separated to two different types.

Explosive barrels

Explosive barrels are bright red in color, with a white horizontal stripe and a "flammable" marking on them. Explosive barrels can be shot with a gun to cause them to explode and deal damage to nearby animals, also destroying wooden crates in proximity. Alternatively, a barrel may blow up due to nearby explosions, such as from grenades or other barrels. They can also be struck by a melee weapon, but the resulting explosion will damage the player because of their proximity, potentially killing them.

Alongside grenades, explosive barrels are the only damage source in the game that can deal damage to both HP and Armor at once.

Waste barrels

Waste barrels are merely an obstacle to bullets, vision, and movement. They have a green color and do not explode under any circumstances.
